Letting Go in 2 Steps.
Shame and guilt say "I will never make up for what I did. I do not deserve to be forgiven." Chronic guilt is a way to never take responsibility for anything. Responsibility says " I opened this wound, I will try to heal it."
It's important we know the difference.
Gentleness is needed because we will make mistakes here. May you forgive yourself and each other.
